Alana & Zach's Colorful Wedding at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers, MA

We don’t usually visit the same venue twice in one year, let alone twice in two weekends, but Glen Magna Farms is actually one of our favorite venues from 2024 so as it happened we really enjoyed photographing back to back weddings there. Alana and Zach’s wedding was also an entirely different vibe from the previous weekend thanks to the dramatic clouds overhead and the contrast in their chosen color palette. The entire day was blanketed in an ethereal soft gray light which made the warm yellows, pinks, and oranges in the floral arrangements pop and the rain that was to be never actually showed up in any meaningful way. It’s a perfect example of how large of an impact the weather and light can have on the look of any given day.

The gardens themselves looked beautiful in that subtle glow, and Alana’s wish for an outdoor ceremony amongst them was granted. Their vows to one another were beautiful, eliciting tears and cheers from the crowd, and as things concluded the sky looked as threatening as ever. As guests entered the tent from cocktail hour and Alana and Zach found their seats after sharing a first dance, toasts from parents and old friends were cause for raucous laughter. Their DJ got the party started with a slew of modern hits before bringing the energy back down, allowing Alana to step away for a quick change.

While as far as Zach knew she had just run inside real quick, Alana and a handful of friends headed to the bridal suite to change her into something a bit easier to dance in…oh and also cut a sizable bit of her hair off as a surprise. Zach’s disbelief as she strode confidently back onto the dance floor was adorable and as “Dancing Queen” played loud over the speakers the disco ball lit up and things got wild again.

These two seemed equally happy sharing a quiet moment together away from the buzz as they did being the life of the party, and it was a lot of fun watching them bounce back and forth. After some time throwing down with their friends and family, we explored some more with Alana and Zach finding the last bits of light around the grounds and creating our own where there wasn’t any. It was a refreshing way to break from the chaos on the dance floor for a moment, running around in the misty dark, and it felt like the best way to say goodnight to these two lovebirds.
