Callie & Chris' Joyous Wedding at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers, MA
When we first met Callie and Chris in person up in the South End of Boston for their engagement session it was immediately clear how easily they fit together. It felt like they were made for one another, effortlessly finding ways to make each other laugh, always finding the others’ hand walking down the street together. Wedding planning is so difficult and juggling so many pieces of a massive puzzle is not quick work, but we’d be lying if we said it wasn’t tortuous to have to wait so long to photograph these couples we come to love so much throughout the planning process.
Callie and Chris’ wedding at Glen Magna Farms a week ago was always going to be a fun one, full of energy and plenty of laughs, and it certainly delivered. They live and work out of Boston where Chris works in finance and Callie’s a full-time nanny to a bunch of lovely kids, and when Callie told us that a handful of them would be attending the wedding we knew there’d be plenty of opportunities to capture their energy as it weaved into the day. Some were given the duty of flower girl, others ring-bearers, and some were just there to take a zillion polaroids photos and run around the stunningly gorgeous grounds at Glen Magna; a mixture of formal gardens and more wild pathways through woodsy sections of the grounds - a paradise if you’re a kid.
The wedding ceremony in the gardens was gorgeous and along with Callie and Chris shedding some happy tears we dried our eyes a few times behind our lenses as we watched. Just like when we first met, it was so clear how much they love one another and how much they meant every word of their vows, and seeing them walk out of their ceremony to celebrations with friends and family was so beautiful. Cocktail hour on the main lawn adjacent to the gardens felt grand and sprawling, with kids running this way and that while folks caught up and took in the beauty of the estate.
The rest of the night was classically late summer in New England with a nearly full moon rising over the tree line and just barely crisp temperatures as it got late. Toasts from friends and family echoed our perceptions of their natural chemistry and Callie’s brother Cameron’s nod to Chris being the perfect partner for Callie had everyone smiling in agreement. As the kids who hadn’t yet run out of energy ran amok on the dance floor and the live band started upping the energy the night seemed to find another gear. Callie and Chris’ college friends made huge circles on the dance floor and folks took turns in the middle showing off their best moves and limbo attempts, Chris was lifted high into the air by a group of buddies from high school, and the two of them seemed to be in their element: surrounded by their loving friends and family and celebrating this milestone with them.
