Haley & Matt's Summer Solstice Wedding at the Roger Williams Botanical Garden, Providence RI

Haley and Matt are the kind of folks we’d probably end up hanging out with if we lived in the same city: we share a love for the Talking Heads, we each have pets with ocean-dwelling creature names (their dog Crab, our cat Shrimp), Matt and Andy are both drummers, and we love our friends like they’re family. We also happen to share a home state with Matt, who grew up here and whose family lives just south of Providence, so it made sense for them to return here to get married. It feels like their wedding has been ‘coming up’ for so long that we can hardly believe it’s history now, but we can confidently say that it was well worth the wait. Hosted at the beautiful Roger Williams Botanical Center just south of downtown Providence, a venue we’ve long hoped to have the opportunity to work at, Haley and Matt’s wedding was a true celebration of togetherness and love. To put it simply, they told us everyone coming to their wedding is important to them. This sentiment was echoed in the toasts their friends and family gave, as their clear devotion and loyalty to everyone there was mirrored as best friends recalled their seemingly endless reserves of generosity and kindness. When the band welcomed them to the dance floor with their take on the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place,” we couldn’t help but lock eyes across the tent and smile. Shortly after they started dancing they welcomed literally everyone else onto the dance floor in yet another nod to the atmosphere of if you’re here, you’re family. Shortly after dancing commenced so did the rain which, after looming threateningly and ominously all afternoon, enveloped an already dance-ready crowd in an intense energy that lasted the duration of the evening. At the end of the day we’re just vendors, but from the moment we arrived to the sweaty end of the night hugs Haley and Matt made us feel like guests, friends even. To Haley and Matt: thank you for including us in your wedding day, it was truly an honor.
