Jennie & John's Solstice Superbloom Wedding at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH

Jennie and John are serious skiers. No really, like super serious cross country marathon skiers who met one another on a ski team. By all accounts these two live and breath the sport and as Jennie’s sister Laura would attest in her toast are maybe a bit obsessed with it. Their chosen wedding venue, the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, New Hampshire was the perfect place to host their closest friends and family and just happened to be the site where an unprecedented number of lupines had just hit their peak! When we first talked to Jennie and John last year we all excitedly discussed the possibility that the lupine bloom just might make an appearance at their wedding, but none of us could have imagined that spectacle we were met with. Something about the never ending solstice light washing over the fields of vibrant purple hues made the wedding just feel ethereal. The real beauty in this wedding though was not the blooming lupines or the long light or the pleasantly breezy June weather, it was the connection and happiness shared between these two. John’s dryly hilarious quick wit and Jennie’s always smiling and loving attentiveness came though in the way they held each other’s hands every where they went, and how John made Jennie laugh seemingly with no effort at all. Following an absolutely gorgeous ceremony, the warmth of the skiway lodge welcomed guests inwards for a night of pizza on mismatched antique china, heart felt toasts from family members, and dancing to a hand crafted playlist.
