Deanna & Alex's Rawlings Botanical Garden Engagement Session in Baltimore, MD

The Howard Peter Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Baltimore, MD is kind of ancient. Designed by the same man who designed Baltimore City Hall, the Conservatory was first opened to the public in August of 1888. It's a striking structure, entirely unique within Baltimore and it is nestled within Druid Hill Park. The main room is home to towering palms and the smaller rooms feature biome-specific plants and cacti from around the world. Naturally it's a wonderful place to explore and photograph in, and one of our favorite places to escape to in Baltimore. Deanna and Alex showed up wearing their respective favorite colored flannels appropriate for the cool November temps, and we wandered around admiring the plants and looking for the good light. It showed up in subdued form, peeking through the leaves and filtering through some 140 year old glass panels in the roof. After a walk through the various conservatory we took a stroll outside around Druid Hill reservoir to take in the long views of Baltimore City, dodging rain showers and hiding beneath umbrellas.
