Jasmine & Justin's Snowy Elopement in New London, CT
Hello out there! We’re in the middle of our slow season here in Rhode Island, and every now and again we hear from couples who are working on a shorter timeline for one reason or another. Enter Jasmine and Justin, two folks who have spent much of their lives thus far traveling for work and pleasure, and who just recently moved to the United States after some years abroad. Getting married for them was a matter of when, not if, and once the visa-related stars finally aligned for these two there wasn’t a moment to waste. Moving on Saturday and having their elopement on the following Monday meant crossing a lot of things of the to-do list at once, and it was so lovely to spend a couple of hours with them at such a pivotal point in their journey together in the cool February air documenting their vows.
With just Jasmine, Justin, Justin’s mom, their rescue chihuahua Tana, and their friend Juri officiating standing together in the snow covered patio next to Captain Scott’s Lobster Shack, these two shared laughs and tears and of course a lobster roll before heading over to a favorite spot of ours, Harkness Memorial State Park, to explore and bask in the freshly married energy. We’re firm believers in the concept that every ceremony, no matter how small or seemingly informal, deserves to be and should be celebrated and documented. We get just as much out of witnessing weddings with four people (and one tiny doggo) in attendance as we do from photographing 250+ person weddings and we’ll meet you with the exact same enthusiasm and dedication regardless of what your plans end up looking like.
