Annabeth & Reed's Spring Wedding at West Mountain Inn in Arlington, VT
Getting to work up in Vermont during the springtime is always a treat, and Annabeth and Reed’s wedding at the West Mountain Inn felt like a true celebration of the season. It was that time of year when the maples were just starting to get their leaves, the wild strawberry in the fields were blossoming, the fiddleheads were popping up, and everywhere was buzzing with fresh growth. Annabeth and Reed wanted their wedding day to feel as full of life and silliness as their relationship is, and the chaos of kids and toddlers running this way and that combined with the abundance of green everywhere certainly lent the day a springful energy that felt totally on brand for these two. Annabeth (a loving nanny) and Reed (a doting uncle) told us to expect that chaos, seeing as a fair number of guests at their wedding were of the smallest variety, and instead of worry about it they’d be embracing it. All of their youngest invitees were welcomed to be flower children during the ceremony and were given free reign to enjoy the beauty and wonder that springtime in Vermont offers. The rest of the day was as casual as could be and felt focused on the simple things: a shorter ceremony, long cocktail hour for catching up, dinner and dancing in the barn with a live dad-rock band, and carrot cake. The folks surrounding Annabeth and Reed were all so invested in them and a few surprise toasts during the reception resulted in teary eyes thanks to equal parts nostalgic reminiscing and raucous belly laughing. The band, fronted by a former teacher and friend of the family, kept the energy high throughout the evening, inciting some wild dance moves from the crowd packed into the barn. There’s definitely something special about the sounds of celebration carrying through the cool night air as a full moon rises, and it absolutely reminded us a little bit of our own wedding. We were so happy to see Annabeth and Reed enveloped in love and so grateful to have documented the day with them.
