Danielle & Sean's Misty Summer Wedding at Royals Farm in Torrington, CT

It’s starting to feel like the theme for this year will be: we finally made it here, let’s make the best of it. So many reschedulings, postponements, plans A through F, everything you can probably imagine that could go wrong while planning a wedding did for most folks over the past 18 months. High school sweethearts Danielle and Sean found themselves adjusting to a world that couldn’t predict what the next day would look like, let alone the next year, and even so their wedding did eventually happen! In spectacular 2021 fashion, their wedding day rolled around on quite a rainy Saturday in western Connecticut and was itself an exercise in adjusting on the fly. From the moment we all arrived till the moment we hopped in the car to drive back to Providence, thunder rumbled and lightning cracked and the skies opened up in varying degrees of downpour that even with all its might couldn’t snuff out the flame of celebration for these two and their loved ones. Fellow pizza lovers, Danielle and Sean kept the mood light and casual with the crew from Old World PIzza Truck slinging pies throughout the night, and even decided on a ‘pizza cutting’ in place of the traditional cake cutting - which we loved. For such a wet day, the crowd inside the barn couldn’t really have been more upbeat and happy to be there. This was after all the first time a lot of them had seen each other in quite a while, a phenomenon we’re truly honored to find ourselves documenting this year. Danielle and Sean persevered through the global pandemic as essential workers, planned and replanned their wedding across multiple state lines, and ultimately bested one of the wettest days on record for us, all with a good sense of humor and a smile. It’s this sort of positivity and resilience that will doubtlessly carry them through whatever else life has to throw at them and it was humbling to be there to witness that.
