2020 Year in Review

2020 will be remembered for a long time, for a lot of reasons. A year lots of folks (us included) would like to pretend never happened, 2020 brought with it isolation, heaviness, and enough introspection to last a lifetime. That being said we managed to find some silver linings: we celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary, learned how to cook a lot of new things, spent a lot of quality time with the kitties, had more time for personal creative projects and we got to photograph a handful of small, safety conscious weddings that helped remind us that beauty can exist amidst chaos.

Getting to photograph weddings and be a part of a day that means so much to so many is a privilege, one that we have never taken lightly. Getting to photograph weddings during a pandemic where the very act of gathering is an exercise in caution adds a whole new layer of complexity to an already complicated sort of thing, one which we learned to navigate in tandem with our couples as we went. Looking back on the images we created makes us long to travel again, and we’re proud of the work we made during such an unprecedented time for everyone. Revisiting last year’s images during our ‘off-season’ has made us so excited for what’s to come, for what moments and feelings we’ll get to witness and document, for the future.
