Sara & Pedro's Harvard University Arnold Arboretum Engagement Session

We met Sara and Pedro just outside of Boston for a walk around Lyman Estate, where they'd be getting married at later this year, before trekking to Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum in South Boston. We were quickly comfortable with their easy going nature, positive attitude, and general happy demeanor and were excited to get to photographing them.

Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Arnold Arboretum was built in 1872 and is a joy to explore on foot. We were overwhelmed with the natural splendor and variety of outdoor rooms created by the selection of flora. Currently showing at not only this park but also the other 11 parks comprising the Emerald Necklace park system throughout Massachusetts is an interactive art exhibit titled Fog X FLO by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya. Manifesting in clouds of steam pumped into the landscape by hidden compressors, the Arboretum's natural beauty is shrouded in dense fog that rolls down hills, dances through the trees, and drastically changes the Arnold Arboretum experience. We showed up right at the top of the hour, moments before the exhibit started, and got lost in the fog with Sara and Pedro.

After hiking around the place for a while we chatted over some quality Boston beer and reuben sandwiches at Doyles pub before heading to Sam Adams Brewery for a few more photos (and a few more beers!). We had a great day spending way more time than expected with these two and are even more excited to photograph them again in October at Lyman Estate.
