Hannah & Matt's Early Spring Wedding at the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT

We’re feeling really good about being back shooting weddings after what felt like a long winter. We had the pleasure of heading up to central Vermont to photograph our first wedding of the season a week ago and it’s always exciting to see how the first one goes. Hannah and Matt started off their inquiry by telling us that, like us, they’d been together forever before committing to getting married. They had clearly put a lot of thought into their wedding photos and sought documents from the day that portrayed it honestly: the imperfect, the messy, the loud, the quiet. We felt an immediate connection with what they were seeking and knew from the get-go that we would be a good fit for their day. Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT has a lovely view of the Green Mountains from their ceremony site and we were quite excited to get to see it in person after hearing about it for so long. Ominously cloudy skies threatened rain but lent only drama to Hannah and Matt’s wedding ceremony, and temperatures hanging in the low 60s kept things crisp without the need for coats; a truly spring day in Vermont.

As festivities funneled from the cocktail hour into the barn for the reception, the mood stayed light and goofy while remaining effortlessly beautiful. The warmth of candlelight and bare wood mixed with the boisterous live band and disposable 35mm film cameras everywhere set the stage for the evening. Toasts from family and friends were as heartfelt as they were hilarious and took turns recalling early rumblings of Hannah and Matt’s relationship that started during their time at MIT and over a decade later culminated in this wedding. After toasts Hannah and Matt were treated to (and joined in with!) an a cappella performance from their college friends, which lead directly into the open dancing. All in all we’re just so excited to be back doing what we love doing. We’re incredibly grateful to Hannah and Matt for welcoming us into their day and giving us the start to our 2024 wedding season that we had hoped for.
