Sarah & Heather's Rustic Wedding at The Meadow at Red Ridge Farms in Salisbury, MA

When we first talked with Sarah and Heather about their wedding plans they described their venue as “literally a field.” They mentioned that it was a local, family owned, cow farm that had been hosting weddings for a little while and that the wedding site they had selected on the farm was still a work in progress. When we met with them at the venue back in a particularly wet early May of this year, we were charmed by the day old and absolutely mud-covered calf, guarded by the rest of the herd, that welcomed us upon arrival. The ceremony site itself butted up against a bucolic pasture that, just before sunset, filled with cows as part of their daily migratory pattern. Set among towering old trees and flanked by thick, dark woods the reception space was nicely secluded from the surrounding neighborhood. Located at the northern point of Massachusetts, minutes from Salisbury Beach, the atmosphere was unique and felt relatively untouched by human hands. Their wedding day was graced with beautiful weather, mild temperatures, and a gentle breeze that kept everyone comfortable. We even had a chance to hop over towards the beaches to take advantage of the sand dunes for a moment with them and if you know anything about us, you know that we’re always up for heading to the coast if we can help it! It was kind of our dream venue and multiple elements throughout the day made us really think back to our own wedding: the cows, the buffet style meal, the bonfire, the s’mores, the field, the forest. Sarah and Heather made it clear from the beginning that this wedding was for them, by them, and most importantly highlighted their own unique journeys in life that got them to that point. As Sarah’s father mentioned in his toast, this wedding was solely the product of Sarah and Heather’s hard work and dedication not only to the wedding itself but to one another. In a day filled with beautiful dappled light, wispy dune grasses, marshy fields and craggy trees we found ourselves wondering how the time had flown by so quickly. Their dance floor was consistently packed with happy guests, the music was constantly driving folks to their feet, and the surprise solo performance by Heather to cap it all off was awesome. We had such a lovely time celebrating with these two and are so excited to share these images.
