Eva & Owen's Vermont Summertime Wedding at Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms

Eva and Owen’s story is a deeply romantic one: they met one another in Harvard research labs where they both work and despite Eva living in Austria and Owen living in Boston their love persevered. Six months after Owen proposed they moved in together in Boston and started planning a wedding in Quechee, VT - close to where Owen grew up. Built in 1793 for Vermont’s first lieutenant governor, the Quechee Inn is a historic property with lots of Vermont charm. Its various outbuildings and barns mixed with creaky old apple trees creates a welcoming atmosphere that draws guests into various outdoor gathering spaces. Eva and Owen told us that in envisioning a style for their wedding they wanted the venue to speak for itself, and it did so. In a day filled with clouds, heavy rain, dramatic post-storm sunlight, and even a rainbow or two Eva and Owen laughed and smiled gracefully through it all. Friends from all over the world came to surround these two with support and love and revel in the warmth that radiates from them. Owen’s sister Lucy officiated the ceremony, flowers were arranged by Owen’s mom, the best man’s mother baked the beautiful cakes and parents, cousins, and bridesmaids gave group toasts at the reception. Eva’s bridesmaids even surprised the couple with a game that asked them both questions about each other, the price for answering incorrectly was hazelnut schnapps. A dance floor packed to the brim and boasting hits both Austrian and American capped an evening celebrating these two beautiful people.
